A view of a couple of new sights on the market today

Black Gold, has come out with the Flash-Point Redzone. The MSR for this sight is $218. This model is available in 5 or 7 pin all metal micro dot in .019. The fiber optic is protected by a track in the back of the pin, that then travels into the housing of the sight and then mounts on the top to gather maximum light. Black Gold's photochromic technology allows the pins to glow brightly in low light and in bright sunlight the sky-coil turns purple to dim the pins for a better view. The Redzone has a wheel adjustment for both elevation and  windage. The wheels are calibrated to make the housing move approximately one inch at 25 yards per one full turn. The bottom two pins are red to help you choose the correct pin in longer shooting situations.  IQ Bow Sight, Retina Lock speaks for itself. It has the retina lock technology built into the top of the sight. The MSR for this sight is between $179 to $199 depending on the amount of pins you have. With the Retina Lock you can use or choose not to use a  peep. All your have to do is align the black dot in the middle of the red or green light. Once you have the Retina Lock set up to your anchor point you should be able to draw your bow and have the black dot in the middle of the circle. If it is not then this allows the bow hunter to know that he is torquing the bow or you are not at your correct anchor point. The Retina lock uses ambient light so there is not need for batteries or electronics. To see more on this product visit www.iqbowsights.com

In my opinion both sights are top quality. Both come in 5 to 7 pins. The housing on both protect the pins from damage. The Black Gold Redzone has the photo-chrome technology which allows the pins to be brighter in low light and the ability to dim them when in bright sunlight. I find this an advantage due to pin blur when the target is in the bright light and your pin is bright. When the pin is softened it will allow you to have better contrast of the target and have the brightness you need in a dark shooting situation. IQ Bow Sight's Retina Lock offers the ability to come to full draw and be locked on your target knowing that you are not torquing and at your proper anchor point. By just one look you will see if the dot is not aligned up, allowing you can quickly adjust before the shot.

So which one should you choose? That is a decision that you can only make, based on your budget and your needs in your bow sight. So long for now. God Bless and Safe Hunting.

Great information, I have been considering changing sights and now I really have some good scoop to digest now. I'll let you know when I'm ready and you can set it up for me. Maybe I should keep the sight I have now and put it on a new bow, then you can set up everything for me. Keep up the good work. Tom
