Summer chores.

Summer chores.

As I sit here, my legs and the back of my neck are aching from over-exposure to the sun.  I, and the wife, spent the day building a new shed in my back yard.  We got the walls up, enclosed, and painted.  Tomorrow and Monday I'll be working on the roof.  Over the years, I've collected tools, deer stands, feeders, machines, all kinds of equipment for deer hunting and property management.  The yard was starting to look cluttered.  We are building a 10X16 enclosure with a 10X16 over-hang on one side.  The total roof span is 20X20 feet.  I'll have enough room to store all of my yard and management equipment as well as a climate controled room for the more fragile items.  We painted to match the house and will be landscaping around it so it won't look like a red-neck barn (which it is) owned by a country boy (which I am).  The hope is that it will raise the resale value of the house when we decide to move.  I think it looks great and so does my wife (which is what really matters.)

Looks like a good place to store all the tools and toys. I need a few more of those around my place

Thanks guys. If you are like me, the back yard starts to get crowded between seasons. I have stands and feeders stacked against the side of the house and implements and equipment stored against the back fence. Now I can store everything out of the weather and out of sight. Not only does it keep the wife and neighbors happy, but it increases the life of my equipment. I can cut down on weathering and sun fading.
